Born in Chicago on August 30th, Ariane Dewey has illustrated more than 70 children's books with her partner and former husband, Jose Aruego. The first book by this team was Crocodile's Tale. He designs the pages and draws the lines, and then she paints in the color. Ms. Dewey loves to research, almost as much as she enjoys kayaking and bird watching. She lives in New York City.
