Margaret Peterson Haddix celebrates her birthday on April 9th. As a child, she lived on a farm in Ohio. She graduated from Miami University in Ohio. Always fascinated by words, writing, and books, she has been a newspaper reporter, freelance writer, and community college instructor. Now she is a full-time writer. Her books cover several genre, including young adult, science fiction, and historical fiction. She is the author of Among the Hidden and the several books that have followed in that series about a future in which it is illegal to have more than two children. Her young adult book, Don’t You Dare Read This, Mrs. Dunphrey, is a popular teen read. Ms. Haddix’ husband is a newspaper editor. They have two children.
