Canadian artist Barbara Reid, celebrating her birthday on April 18th, works in a variety of mediums, but her favorite is the children's modeling clay plasticine. With it she can create artwork that is "funny and silly," "childish yet sophisticated."
Since book illustration required two dimensional art, her husband, Ian Crysler, photographs the art when it is done. She has written and illustrated the Zoe books (Zoe's Rainy Day, Zoe's Snowy Day, Zoe's Sunny Day) as well as illustrating for both Canadian and American writers.
