Barbara Joosse celebrates her birthday on February 18th, probably in her 100-year-old stone house in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. She has published more than 30 books in 25 years, both picture books and novels for children.

Her book, Mama, Do You Love Me? received the SCBWI Golden Kite Award, has sold over a million copies, and has been translated into 15 languages. It was recently followed up with Papa, Do You Love Me?, this time set among the Masai.
