With more than 80 books to his credit, George Shannon has made a career of writing. Born on February 14th, this Wisconsin writer likes to challenge his readers with titles like True Lies: 18 Tales for You to Judge ( 1997) and capture their attention with books like A Knock At the Door (1992) and Bean Boy (1984).
Born in Kansas, Mr. Shannon attended the University of Kentucky and then moved to Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He worked as a children's librarian and storyteller. In fact, his book, Storytelling: A Selected Annotated Bibliography is considered to be the basic reference tool for professional storytellers.
Today, he lives and writes in the state of Washington.
He sees writing as a jigsaw puzzle. "You pick an idea from here or an episode from there to put together a story."
