Boni grew up in Connecticut, Ohio, Illinois and Colorado, but she currently lives in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with her husband and four children. She has spent the better part of her life reading and was delighted to discover several years ago that she loves writing books as much as she does reading them. When not reading, writing or talking about books, Boni enjoys searching beaches and gravel roads for native agates and copper, playing Scrabble, traveling, photography, and watching her children participate in every sport known to man.

Boni's first book, Hush, Little Dragon, is a wickedly funny twist on an old lullabye, and hearing people laugh while reading it has been one of the greatest joys of her life. She has several other books forthcoming—Over At The Castle (also illustrated by Kelly Murphy) will be out in 2010, and I Had A Favorite Dress (Abrams Books For Young Readers) and Builder Goose: It's Construction Rhyme Time (Sterling Children's Books), will both be released in 2011. Boni hopes to continue writing funny, enjoyable books for children until she is old and gray, but even that, most likely, won't stop her.

In this clever reworking of the classic folk song “Over in the Meadow,” readers meet villagers who spent their day spinning, cleaning, cooking, dancing, and more. The text counts up from one baby dragon to ten court jesters, and kids will enjoy counting along with each of the characters as they go about their daily work. At the end of the day, all the villagers look out their windows for a special surprise from their dragon neighbors. Readers will pore over illustrations filled with the same unexpected, warm humor of Boni Ashburn and Kelly Murphy’s first book, Hush, Little Dragon.

In this tartly sweet ode to mother/child love, a mama dragon brings her baby dragon various treats to satisfy his grumbly tummy—but which one will do the trick? A fresh magician? Three valiant musketeers? Or perhaps a feisty princess will do? After all of mama's hard work, baby's tummy is finally full and they settle in for a sweet, goodnight cuddle.
